The Vybz Connector

Growing up in Boston’s vibrant Haitian-American community, DJ SL developed a lifelong connection to music. Haitian Kompa and Zouk played alongside Hip-Hop and R&B throughout his childhood, creating an eclectic musical foundation shaped by Caribbean culture, urban grooves, and the diverse sounds of Boston.

Over time, that love for music became a passion for creating experiences that bring people together. Today, DJ SL is known as “The Vybz Connector”—a name that reflects his ability to connect people, cultures, and sounds through music.

Rooted in Kompa and Gouyad, DJ SL blends Caribbean rhythm with global club sounds, moving seamlessly through Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afro House, Dancehall, Soca, Raboday, Hip-Hop, R&B, and international club sounds. His sets are built around energy, versatility, and connection—reading the room and bringing different cultures together through music.

DJ SL is also the founder of the Swat Team Movement and co-founder of The Commission 617. Through these platforms, he has helped bring together DJs, promoters, creatives, and event professionals who share a passion for music, culture, nightlife, and community. The mission has always included supporting local and regional talent while creating memorable experiences both on and off the dance floor.

Boston remains an important part of DJ SL’s identity, but his vision continues to grow beyond the city. With an expanding focus on traveling DJ engagements, nightlife events, festivals, artist collaborations, remixes, cultural experiences, and brand partnerships, DJ SL is bringing his sound and energy to broader audiences and new markets.

At the center of everything is connection.

Connecting the music. Connecting the culture. Connecting the people.
